Jiujiang City Social Welfare Institute, founded in May 1975, is a general social welfare institution in the charge of the government that provides service of old people, orphans, handicapped children and socialization of old age support. The institute covers an area of more than 20,000 ㎞² and the building area is 13,000㎞², which includes 500 beds. The institute was assessed to be a second-class social welfare institution by Civil Affairs Hall of Jiangxi province, and was assessed to be advanced institution with international adoption service in 2004 and 2006, and civilized unit at the city level.
The institute has been sticking to the principle of “all for children” through seriously practising the basic rules of national children’s welfare institution, strengthening the management of service quality, and improving all the regulations and the level of “fosterage, education , treatment and recovery” for orphans and handicapped children.
