Fuzhou City Social Welfare Institute is a comprehensive welfare institute, which was built in the year of 1954, it has more than 50 years old history so far. This orphanage was relocated in 2001. It covers an area of 83.4 mu, building area of more than 18,000㎡, has 90 employees, 163 disabled children, and 36 “three-no old persons”.

The orphanage is built based on the second state level of the social welfare institute, step-by-step implemented the overall planning, and has done 1 Comprehension building, 2 Children’s houses, 1 Canteen for children and 3 Elderly apartments. The orphanage set up comprehensive Living Service Security System and basic modern physical therapy facilities, and has elegant environment, fresh air, exotic flowers and herbs, characterizing a fine day, colorful statue of Love, the pretty mushroom kiosks, Pavilions, artificial lake, children’s playground, indoor and outdoor body builder, automatic fountain facilities, which create the aged persons and the orphan’s paradise.

The orphanage has been persisting the principle of “Upbring, Education, Treatment and Recovery” for many years, and has established the principle of raising centralized and family raising. For looking after the children and the elders well, on the hand, the orphanage seriously carrying out foreign adoption affairs in accordance with the “Adoption Law” to create condition for letting children return home and grow up healthily. On the other hand, making great efforts to develop the rehabilitation treatment of disabled children, the mentally handicapped education and career training, gradually resume their physical function, self-sufficiency, working ability, to achieve the purpose of integrate into the family and the society.
