Maoming District Reunion

A Special Journey Designed for Children from

Maoming/Gaozhou/Huazhou of Guangdong Province

This reunion includes four days in Maoming district. Children will see where they lived as babies at the orphanage, hold babies and play with the older kids there, meet their caregivers and, if it is possible to arrange, their foster parents. The orphanage staff and caregivers will be on hand to welcome and talk with the children and families, so children can learn what their first months or years were like. There is a special bond between children adopted from the same place. The reunion is a rich opportunity for kids to experience their first home in China with other children who were cared for by the same staff and at the same orphanage.  Moreover some volunteer work will give the children a chance to help the kids in the orphanage, which is more meaningful to all the children.

They also tour in a fun and meaningful way highlights of Beijing. Children will run together along the Great Wall and explore some historical places. They see the great cultural heritage in China's capital that is theirs before heading to Guangdong.  They will also be invited to visit the China Center for Adoption Affairs. And children will know more Chinese Culture by taking Chinese calligraphy class, and learning some Chinese words during the trip. This reunion is meant to give children positive memories and a better understanding of what it means to be Chinese. They will have a special and meaningful Summer vacation in China this year!

This reunion is offered, organized and hosted by the Bridge of Love Adoption Service and Maoming Social Welfare Institute, Gaozhou Children Welfare Institute and Huazhou Children Welfare Institute.
