Leaders of MCA Present at Welcome Ceremony for Root-Seeking Tour to China by Foreign Adoptive Families— Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China

On Nov.23, the welcome ceremony was held at multifunction hall of MCA for roots-seeking tour to China by adoptive families, at which Li Xueju, Minster of Civil Affairs was present, and Dou Yupei, the deputy-minister of Civil Affairs delivered a welcome speech. 37 foreign adoptive families totaling 105 persons from 6 countries, including Australia, Canada, Britain, Holland, Sweden and USA, were received by the leaders of MCA.

At the welcome ceremony, Minister Li Xueju presented the souvenirs and gifts with his autograph to adoptive children. On behalf of MCA, he made an ardent wish, ‘Dear children, welcome back to China and join the seek-rooting tour. Wish you grow to be healthy with a grateful heart for what your parents have done for you. Wish your dreams come true’.

While addressing to the adoptive families, deputy minister Dou Yupei said that in recent years, MCA has exerted great efforts to create a helpful and contributive environment to promote the root-seeking tour program so as to meet the desire and demand on root-seeking tour by adoptive parents and children. With the proactive efforts, achievement is made. In the root-seeking tour, adoptive children have a personal experience in China and their understanding about China is deepened. At the same time, they also learn how Chinese government keeps open to the world to select the best families for them. In this way, they will feel the love from China and have a deeper feeling for China. He hopes that the root-seeking tour program continues to develop. He also asks BLAS to provide satisfying quality services to adoptive families.

The welcome ceremony was presided by Liu Xiaolei, the director of BLAS. She said that since 2006, BLAS has been diligent and assiduous in arranging various activities of roots-seeking tour and providing quality services, with which BLAS has enjoyed a good reputation and praises among adoptive parents and children.

Some performances were enjoyed at the welcome ceremony. The adoptive children sang in chorus. BLAS staff danced the waist drum dancing and performed the poem recitation ‘Home in the world, roots in China’ to express their welcoming heart to adoptive parents. The representatives for foreign adoptive families also gave the speech.
