The Root-Seeking Group of Adoption Families from Netherlands Organized by BLAS


     

 

The Root-seeking Group organized by BLAS and Wereldkinderen, consisting of 35 people from 9 adoptive families of Netherlands, arrived in Beijing on April 25th. They will have a root seeking trip with 16 days in China.

 

Beijing is their first stop of this trip. During their stay in Beijing, families took part in various activities organized by BLAS. Adopted children learned how to paint Peking Opera mask, how to write calligraphy, how to sing a Chinese song and how to play Taiji. Families also tasted traditional Beijing food---Roast Duck. They fully felt the colourful Chinese traditional culture. By visit Hutong, Siheyuan and Mutianyu Great Wall, families enjoyed the sightseeing of Beijing and beautiful spring scenery. When they visited the Olympic Venues---- “Bird Nest” and “Water Cube”, an adoptive parent who had been to Beijing several times before pleased said, ”they’re so impressive and so beautiful. We can imagine what an exceptionally grand occasion the opening ceremony is! China has a great change. “

 

At present, under the arrangement of BLAS, adoptive families have gone to their children’s Social Welfare Institutes, which are located in the provinces of Anhui, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi and Shanxi etc. They will go on their root seeking trip there. Until then, adopted children will return their home town, experience the customs of homeland, deep recall their clips of childhood life, find every detail in the places where they lived in before, and view the beautiful scenery of their home town. All these activities of this Root-Seeking trip will be their enduing memory.
